Due to certain big lapses on the part of Government of India, Aadhar may also lose its sheen to be an acceptable and reliable ID Proof very soon. Unless and until the GOI links the Aadhar database to the database of digital birth and death registrars, it is not going to solve any purpose. In my opinion, the work related to registration of births, deaths should be taken away from State Governments who do not want to digitalize the births and deaths data due to the vested interests of politicians. Births and Death Registration work should be given to UIDAI who should link the digital birth and death registers with Aadhar database. Now there is no system to suspend the Aadhar Card of the dead persons. Moreover, the Government is not serious about harming the interests of the Mobile Network Operators who are at liberty to issue as many aadhar verified sims to individuals as they wish.
