Alert – Social Net Working Sites – Responsibilities
Year 2013 and 2014 will be known as “Blogging Year in India” as more and more responsible citizens of India are switching to online expressions of their views and experiences. India has huge potential to explore and the Great Indian population has the capability to add New Chapters for online development. This is the proper time when when the Indian Government enacts laws in such a way that such online contributors get their share of remuneration as Multi National Companies will be exploiting this platform to market their products and without any review ratings available in India – the gullible online community in India can be taken for a ride even by unscrupulous elements from all over the world. Indian Government needs to enact laws ab initio so that the interests of Indian Online Community are protected as Individuals can not fight the Big Corporate and by themselves the MNC are not so generous that they will pass on any benefits to the Individuals. Now Social websites like facebook are creating ripples in the youngsters and the young minds, without suspecting their ulterior motives, allowing the younger generations especially teenagers to expand facebook and other social circles geometrically – and such contacts are being used by social networking sites to market the products of Multinational Companies – in which the owners of social networking sites may be the business Partners. I raise the following questions which need to be answered by all the Social Networking sites and Law Enforcing Agencies in India :
1. While creating ID on the Social Networking Sites – Why such sites do not ask for any Voter ID or PAN/Passport ID or Aadhaar ID by Unique Identity Authority of India – which can be easily verified online. I feel any institution dealing with any person – may it be College/University enrolling a student, an employer recruiting an employee, any hospital admitting a patient, any seller selling the electronic gadgets like Mobiles, Smart Phones, IPads, Laptops with recognizable IP address, Social Networking Sites creating a Social ID or high value end products with value more than say INR 10000 being sold to a Purchaser must insist for ID and address proof which can be verified online. But national governments are not implementing such guidelines just to protects the interests of big business houses and corporate world – who fund the political parties to come to power and have their full say directly or indirectly in governing the national government.
2. If the above becomes true then Facebook ID’s can also serve as ID and Address Proofs and one will have not to carry his or her ID or address proofs physically when these could be verified online through digital network of Facebook, Passport, Aadhaar Car, PAN number, Driving License etc.
Note from Author : Without digitalisation no body is aware of the credibility of the ID or Address proof. Only recently one of my friends lost the driving license and lodged valid FIR along with photocopy of the lost driving license, which luckily she had, to get the duplicate driving license issued. But when she approached the Licensing Authority the lost Driving License was found to be fake with original signatures of the Licensing Authority. The employee used to pocket the fees for issuing the driving license and Licensing Authority could never know as to how many such driving licenses had been issued. It has far reaching consequences as in the event of an accident the Insurer Company will reject the claim merely on the ground that the vehicle was driven without valid driving license. Though of the track, yet the government authorities need to regulate the insurers to incorporate such legal provisions that insurance claims will not be rejected in such cases as the driver is innocent and she had gone through the processes and relying upon the driving license she had been driving the vehicle for years together.
3. Social Net Working Sites say that they are contributing a good part of their REVENUE to charities. Can such social networking sites publish the following information on the their Home Page or “About Us” or “Mission Statement” page :
Total Revenue through marketing Earned Revenue Donated to Charities
Services and Products say ==== 1234567890000 say 10% = 123456789000

All Social Networking Sites claim to have an enormous data base and also claim that they are for the Social Cause. Will they come up to the expectations of more than 7 billion population of the world to publish their above data and if it is already available then where it is? I end up my writing that Social Sites need to be :
FOR THE SOCIETY, OF THE SOCIETY, BY THE SOCIETY. If individuals do not subscribe to the Social Networking Sites – their very existence – will be at stake. This million dollar question will be the “Question of the near Future”.
I am not against the Social Networking Sites but I just want these sites to share their pie of Social Responsibilities towards Nations, Communities and the Mankind.
Today again I searched for the Very First Blogger in this Universe but ended in logging to a Cloning Site, which I wanted to share but for the fact that it might not spread Viruses or Spams. My motive, to find the First Blogger and date of Blogging , was to announce that DAY as Bloggers Day. Anybody else having the Idea? So that Bloggers Day is uniformly celebrated as Awareness Day as I strongly feel that community of online vigilant bloggers can create awarenesses among the societies all over the world.
Happy Blogging to everyone.
